Failure Is Not An Option!

I always had dreams and goals and wanted to accomplish great things in life. I faithfully believed that someday in life I could succeed and excel in doing something, somewhere and somehow. I knew I had the choice to be whatever I wanted to be, and my first desire was to be a leader in whatever I decided to do. However, I knew that I had to equip myself with the proper attitude for life’s journey. I knew that this life was going to be a challenge and that there would be battles of various kinds, and that it would require that I put up a fight.

I knew I was going to go many places and that I would see many people and have disappointments. But preparing myself was the attitude that I programmed within myself, while knowing it would be beneficial, to keep me from giving up along the way during hard times. I was also aware that trying to get through the doors in a leadership role could present some real challenges for a woman, especially as an African American woman. This was a lesson that I learned growing up as a child, but I always kept hope alive and there were many memorable quotes instilled in me. My mother would always tell me, where there is a will, there is a way.

I Wanna Be A Model Too! Releasing The Beauty And Fashion In Me: This book tells the story of how a “little black girl” felt as though beauty was a blessing and a curse. Being bullied in school at a young age I discovered during that time that I wanted to be a model someday. Life took a turn in 2003 at the age 39 when a life-threatening near death car accident left me scarred for life. The physical trauma to my face such as burns, lacerations, bruises, fractures of the facial bones and fracture of my jaw, as well as head trauma with right eye injury was unbelievable and debilitating.

Imagine waking up from a coma feeling weary with severe physical pain and not realizing it was due to a motor vehicle crash. I really thought life was over for me and my clock was ticking. I almost gave up on wanting to be a model. I was confused about who I was, but God sustained me during the darkest time of my life! On this journey I created an intimate relationship with God and my life was transformed. I achieved a natural healing for my Body, Mind, and Spirit gaining a lot of confidence along the way. I had immense faith that I will accomplish great things in my life. The feeling of how “I Wanna Be A Model Too” never left me during all of my trials and tribulations.
